However, the Punjab Prison Department spokesperson denied this claim, stating that Khan only meets with family and lawyers, with all meetings recorded. Additionally, the prison spokesperson mentioned that Imran Khan and former Punjab chief minister Pervaiz Elahi are housed separately in the prison, with rigorous security measures in place.
In related news, a Lahore district court rejected the police request to extend Pervaiz Elahi’s physical remand in a case concerning illegal appointments in the Punjab Assembly. Elahi was arrested by the Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment on charges of appointing his principal secretary during his tenure as chief minister. He has been arrested multiple times in various cases following a crackdown on the PTI after May 9 violence.
