The Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) has issued a notification extending the tenure of the PCB management committee. However, the committee will now have limited authority.
According to the notification, the PCB management committee will no longer be able to make high-level appointments or major policy decisions. Instead, the committee will focus on handling the day-to-day affairs of the cricket board.
The individual who issued the statement expressed their desire to not bring down the morale of the team management and coaches. They also wished the best for Najam Sethi if he is appointed as the PCB chairman by the prime minister. The individual emphasized that any appointments or removals should be done in an honorable manner to protect the reputation of the board. They called for all parties involved to put aside their differences and work towards the betterment of cricket.
It is important to mention that Zaka Ashraf, who was supported by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), assumed the role of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee chairman on July 6.
