Former PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry, who is currently a member of the Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party (IPP), has been arrested, according to his wife Hiba Fawad. She expressed concern over his safety as no arrest warrant or order was presented during his arrest. Fawad’s brother, Faisal, has filed a request for his recovery in court and stated that Fawad was taken into custody by officials dressed in Islamabad police uniform. Faisal emphasized that Fawad was not wanted in any case and his detention was illegal. The court has accepted the request and summoned a police report. Fawad’s arrest comes shortly after PTI leader Asad Qaiser was detained in a graft case. Fawad had previously sought relief from the Islamabad High Court and later joined the IPP. He had also been granted interim pre-arrest bail in two terror cases but faced non-bailable arrest warrants from the Election Commission of Pakistan in a case related to contempt of the electoral body.
