Pakistan enforces single document regime at Afghan border

The Chaman Passport Office has issued over 1000 tokens for passports under the new single document regime, with approximately 200 of them already delivered to the applicants, according to a statement. The decision for the single document regime, which was taken at the Apex Committee chaired by the prime minister, has been fully implemented, the minister stated. Additionally, the Qila Abdullah Passport Office is fully functional and issuing passports to local people. The government has ensured the implementation of the single document regime despite pressure, and no one will be allowed to cross the border of Pakistan without fulfilling international entry formalities. The credit for the implementation of the single document regime goes to Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, and Caretaker Balochistan Chief Minister Ali Mardan Domki, the minister noted. Furthermore, Afghan illegal immigrants being repatriated to the country will be allowed to enter Pakistan after showing their passports, and the cross-border movement between Pakistan and Afghanistan will be through legal international procedures.
