The far-right fanatic and mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik is suing the state of Norway in an attempt to end his isolation in prison. Breivik, who killed 77 people in 2011, appeared in court on Monday, accusing the Ministry of Justice of breaching his human rights by keeping him in isolation for about 12 years. His lawyer argued that the conditions of his detention violated his human rights and left him suicidal and dependent on medication. Breivik claims that his isolation amounts to inhumane punishment, but this is not the first time he has attempted to challenge his conditions in court. The judge’s verdict in this latest case will be issued in the coming weeks.
