Israel has adopted a threatening attitude by recalling its ambassadors from Ireland and Norway.

Copenhagen: Spain, Norway, and Ireland have formally recognized Palestine as a state, effective May 28, prompting Israel to recall its diplomats from these countries in response.

According to international news agencies, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store said that the concept of peace in the Middle East cannot be considered if Palestine is not recognized as a state.

Store further expressed solidarity with the Palestinians during a press conference, stating that Palestine has the fundamental right to be an independent state.

The decision to recognize a Palestinian state by Norway comes 30 years after the first Oslo Accord in 1993.

Similarly, Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris announced that Ireland, together with Spain and Norway, has decided to recognize Palestine as a state. Today is a historic and important day for Ireland and Palestine.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez also announced that the Council Ministers will approve the recognition of an independent Palestinian state on May 28.

Sanchez further criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stating that their provocative and destructive policies are jeopardizing the two-state solution for Palestine.

In response to Israel’s measures to recognize a Palestinian state, Ireland and Norway have ordered their ambassadors to return, with Israeli Foreign Minister Katz warning that Israel will not remain silent.

It is important to note that several European Union countries hinted last week that they intend to recognize Palestine as a state, emphasizing the necessity of a two-state solution for lasting peace in the Middle East.

The most significant driver behind this move by European countries is Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, who had previously stated in March that Ireland, along with Slovenia and Malta, believes that recognizing Palestine is essential for lasting peace and security.

These efforts come at a time when the casualties among innocent civilians in Gaza are increasing due to Israel’s aggression in securing a defeat for Hamas, with the death toll of Palestinians reaching 35,000 in the past 7 months.
