Decision to Establish 100 New Employment Centers and 10 New IT Parks by 2025.

Islamabad: The government has announced that by the year 2025, 100 new e-employment centers and 10 new software technology parks will be established across the country.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, an important meeting was held today at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad regarding Information Technology Parks. During the meeting, the Prime Minister discussed with the participants the importance of promoting the country’s growing IT industry, increasing IT revenues, and providing facilities for startups through IT parks. He directed that construction of the Islamabad IT Park should be completed soon and also instructed for third-party evaluation of the software technology parks.

The meeting was briefed by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications on the IT parks. It was revealed that with cooperation from South Korea, the Islamabad IT Park project will be completed by next year. The Islamabad IT Park will provide facilities including startups, innovation centers, banks, restaurants, and other amenities. It was also announced in the meeting that with cooperation from South Korea, the Information Technology Park near Jinnah International Airport in Karachi will be completed by 2027.

It was further informed in the meeting that 43 software technology parks have been established in 29 cities of the country, and by 2025, 100 new e-employment centers and 10 new software technology parks will be established nationwide.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Finance Minister and Revenue Mohammad Orangzeb, Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunications Shazz Fatima, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Jahangir Khan, Prime Minister’s Coordinator Rana Ehsan Afzal, and other relevant senior government officials.
