National Party’s election office in Mastung – Pakistan targeted in grenade attack, leaving 2 injured

The National Party’s election office in Mastung, Balochistan was attacked with a grenade on Sunday evening, injuring two people identified as Ghulam Mohiuddin and Abdul Aziz Shami. They were taken to DHQ Hospital for treatment, with Shami later transported to Quetta for further medical care. Additionally, a police constable was killed in an armed attack at the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) regional office in Turbat earlier in the week. In separate incidents, PPP candidates’ election offices in Mastung and Kharan were targeted by armed men with hand grenades, and a National Party candidate in Turbat narrowly escaped an armed attack. Unidentified men also targeted the Government High Model School in Kharan during a training session for polling staff. Meanwhile, in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, an improvised explosive device (IED) blast outside the residence of former PTI provincial minister Malik Shah Muhammad Khan injured two people. Muhammad was not present at the time of the blast, but his son, who was in the guest house at the time, was unharmed. A search operation to find the perpetrators was initiated, and the injured were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Bannu city for medical treatment.
