Former director of the Pakistan Cricket Team, Mohammad Hafeez, has addressed wicketkeeper batter Azam Khan’s remarks about his selection in the national team.
During an interview with the International League T20 franchise Desert Vipers, Azam Khan expressed his concerns about being selected for the Pakistan team and the limited opportunities he has had to showcase his abilities in international cricket.
He also expressed feeling a lack of support while playing for Pakistan and emphasized the importance of mental attitude in his performance. In response, Mohammad Hafeez, on the A-Sports show ‘The Pavilion’, revealed that he had advised Azam Khan to prioritize his fitness and acknowledged the challenges that come with representing the national team.
Hafeez emphasized the essential role of fitness in being part of the national team and mentioned that despite being informed about his place in future plans, Azam Khan’s performance did not reflect desired improvement.
