According to security officials, a joint operation conducted by law enforcers against criminal elements in Sindh’s Sakrand village resulted in the deaths of several miscreants and injuries to at least nine people, including Rangers personnel. The operation was carried out following intelligence reports of high-value criminals in possession of explosives and firearms.

The Sindh Rangers, in a statement, stated that upon seeing the Rangers and police, the armed miscreants opened fire, injuring four Rangers personnel. In retaliation, three miscreants were killed. The slain individuals were identified as Akhan Ali, Mehar, Sajawal, and Khirrar. The injured included Sarang, Imamuddin, Allahdad, and Ali Nawaz, as well as five security personnel.

However, the Sindh United Party (SUP) disputed the official account provided by the law enforcement agencies. According to the SUP, authorities had brought a person named Jalbani to the residence of Allahdad Jalbani in Mari Jalbani village, and a confrontation ensued as local residents gathered to protect Jalbani. The SUP claimed that four of its supporters were killed during the scuffle.

In protest against the incident, villagers laid four bodies on a portion of the national highway in Sakrand. The SUP president strongly condemned the incident, accusing the police of deliberately targeting and firing upon unarmed SUP supporters. He further alleged that the PPP, the ruling party, was influencing the police and using retaliatory actions ahead of the upcoming general elections.

Overall, the incident in Sakrand village resulted in casualties and injuries, and the conflicting accounts from different parties highlight the need for thorough investigation and transparency.
