Despite the team’s struggles, Arthur defended the coaching staff, players, and management, highlighting their sincere efforts. Pakistan, previously ranked as the top ODI team globally, suffered defeats against India, Australia, and Afghanistan before their loss to South Africa. In the match against South Africa, Pakistan scored 270 runs, with Saud Shakeel and Babar Azam contributing significantly. However, South Africa’s tailenders, Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi, secured a one-wicket victory. Arthur acknowledged that Pakistan’s performance has been subpar in the tournament, particularly in bowling and fielding.
