Sindh braces for rough weather as rain predicted in Karachi and various parts of province
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted “rain/thunderstorm with few heavy falls” in Karachi and other parts of Sindh today as the province prepares for rough weather. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has declared a half-day for all government and private offices in Karachi in light of the PDMA’s warning of potential urban flooding. The PMD has issued an advisory for rain and thunderstorms in northern parts of the province from Feb 29 till March 2, with similar conditions expected in the rest of Sindh from March 1. Fishermen are advised to stay cautious during the forecasted period. The PMD attributed the weather conditions to a westerly wave over Balochistan and adjacent Sindh.
