The gas company has highlighted the importance of pre-booking LPG shipments to address the shortage during winter. It was reported that the lack of dollars and the closure of Letter of Credits (LCs) have hindered the import of LPG. The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC-LPG) has informed the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and Ministry of Finance about the shortage and raised concerns about the need to open LCs in order to pre-book LPG shipments. The closed LCs have also caused difficulties in the unloading process at Port Qasim.
