Lahore Metro Bus Administration Accused of ‘Power Theft’

The Chief Executive of LESCO has stated that a meter being used by the Metro Bus administration is ‘dead’, causing the company to suffer significant financial losses. The administration has been charged for 24,000 units in terms of detection bill.

LESCO has initiated a major operation against power theft by consumers on the directives of the Federal Power Division. The Chief Executive has pledged to continue the operations without discrimination until electricity theft is completely eradicated, and those involved in theft are held accountable, including LESCO officers and employees who facilitate it.

In November, LESCO also released a list of government institutions with outstanding dues, with Pakistan International Airline (PIA) Lahore, Chairman Municipal Committee Kasur, and Chairman Municipal Committee Street Light Kasur being the top defaulters.
