Karachi: A shopkeeper was killed in a firing incident in Orangi Town, while a citizen shot a robber in Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

According to Express News, a person was killed in a firing incident near Khalil Market in Sector 11 of Orangi Town, and the deceased was identified as 32-year-old Asif, whose body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

SSP-West Hafeez-ur-Rehman Bhatti stated that Asif had closed his shop and was going home to break his fast on a bicycle in Azim Nagar when an unknown assailant shot him in the head from behind for unknown reasons.

He also mentioned that the Crime Scene Unit has been requested to gather evidence, and investigations are ongoing. Asif’s phone was found with him, but it will take some time to determine the motives behind his murder.

Asif’s brother, Shahbaz, speaking to media at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, mentioned that they had no enmity with anyone and were unaware of the reasons behind the incident. He also expressed disbelief at why his innocent brother was targeted at such a young age.

Meanwhile, in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, robbers looted a car from a civilian at Pehlwan Goth and during the incident, the civilian fired upon the robbers with his weapon, injuring one of them severely while the accomplice managed to escape.

Upon receiving information about the incident, police and rescue personnel reached the scene and were transferring the injured robber to Jinnah Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries on the way.

The editor-in-chief of Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Aasim Siddiqui, informed that the deceased robber was identified as Saraj from the local company’s card found in his pocket. His residential and criminal records are being checked using the identity card number, and the mobile phone of Saraj was recovered from the possession of the deceased robber, along with the weapon.

It was revealed that the civilian, a resident of Gulistan-e-Jauhar, had gone to buy something from a shop with his son, who was waiting in the car. When the robbers attempted to loot them and flee, the civilian fired upon them. However, further investigations are being carried out by the police regarding the incident.
