A passenger attempted to smuggle more than 2.5 million rupees worth of currency and a large quantity of gold on a Banka Air flight from Karachi Airport. Imran Gul Awan, the passenger traveling on the Banka Air flight, had hidden 251 grams of gold and foreign currency including US dollars, Hong Kong dollars, Yuan, and Riyals in his bag. ASF officials thwarted the smuggling attempt during a search operation, preventing money laundering. The suspect, along with the confiscated gold and currency, has been handed over to Pakistan Customs for further legal action after initial investigation.
