Jamaat-i-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq stepped down as the head of the party on Monday after his party suffered a big defeat in the elections. Despite resigning, his decision is pending approval from the party’s governing body, the Jamaat Shura. In Karachi, the party also forfeited one of its two Sindh Assembly seats, claiming that it was won by a PTI-backed independent candidate due to manipulated and rigged results. Hafiz Naeem, a party member, expressed disgust and promised to continue resisting and exercising every legal right to win back their mandate.
