The Pakistan Startup Fund was launched by Caretaker Minister for Information Technology, Dr. Umar Saif, to attract investments in Pakistani startups. The fund has been allocated Rs2 billion by the caretaker government to boost investment in local ventures. The Pakistan Startup Fund aims to provide up to 30% support to startups and has attracted foreign investment of $800 million in the last four years. Umar Saif also stated that the fund aims to create a value of at least Rs 50 billion per year in the startup ecosystem in Pakistan. Additionally, Dr. Umar Saif announced that PayPal will be providing its services in Pakistan, allowing international payments to be carried out in the country through a third-party gateway.
