In an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Kalat district, security forces killed two terrorists, the army’s media wing reported on Tuesday night. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that the operation took place in the district’s general area of the Nagao Mountains and resulted in intense fire exchange between the troops and terrorists. Two terrorists were killed and a cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives was recovered. The militants were involved in various terrorist activities, and the area is being sanitized to eliminate any other terrorists. The security forces remain determined to prevent any attempts to disrupt the peace, stability, and progress of Balochistan. This operation comes after recent similar actions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s South Waziristan district and the Peshawar district, where a high-value terrorist was among the four militants killed. The uptick in terrorist activities in Pakistan has been particularly prevalent in KP and Balochistan in recent months, following the end of a ceasefire between the government and the banned militant Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan in November last year.
