A day of mourning was observed in Iran following the twin blasts that killed at least 84 individuals during a commemoration for Qasem Soleimani. The death toll was initially reported at around 100. Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, blamed “evil and criminal enemies” and vowed a “harsh response.” The United States and Israel have denied any involvement in the attacks. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the European Union, and Chinese President Xi Jinping all expressed condolences for the tragic incident.
