Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, the acting central president of the Awami National Party (ANP), urged Pakhtuns to vote for ANP candidates in the upcoming elections if they desire economic strength. He made these remarks during a campaign rally in Shewa area, using the Pakhtun card to rally support. ANP candidates Sikandar Irfan and Zahid Khan had requested Mr. Hoti to address the workers in a last-ditch effort to garner support. Hoti promised that ANP would protect the rights of Pakhtuns and work towards a new resource distribution formula under the National Finance Commission Award. He also criticized the PTI government for financial mismanagement and alleged that state machinery was used to suppress ANP during their tenure. He encouraged voters to locate their polling booths and constituencies by sending their NIC numbers to 8300 and visiting the ECP website for candidate information.
