Rescue and relief efforts were underway in Gwadar after receiving over 180 millimeters of rain in the past two days, leading the Balochistan government to declare it calamity-hit. The heavy rains caused havoc in the city, resulting in suspended normal life and traffic. Flash floods engulfed most areas in Gwadar, Makran, and parts of Balochistan.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department reported that Gwadar received 60mm of rain in the last 24 hours, while Jiwani recorded the highest rainfall at 72mm. Relief and rescue operations involved various organizations, including the PDMA, Pakistan Army, Navy, and district administration.

The PDMA Director General, Jahanzeb Khan, confirmed that the situation in Gwadar was challenging due to the heavy rainfall. He assured that efforts were underway to remove the accumulated rainwater and evacuate affected residents to safe places. Forecasted rains prompted the issuance of alerts to concerned districts, and continuous monitoring was being maintained.

Sindh also braced for inclement weather with forecasts predicting rain and thunderstorms in various parts of the province. Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah imposed a rain emergency in Sindh and declared a half-day for all government and private offices in Karachi. The Met Department advised caution as heavy rains could lead to urban flooding.

During surprise visits, CM Shah and Commissioner Rajput ensured the deployment of dewatering machinery and directed measures to prevent rain-induced damages. Karachi Mayor Wahab confirmed the positioning of suction vehicles to clear rainwater as needed, while SSP Siddiqui ordered heightened police readiness and assistance for stranded families and smooth traffic flow during the rains.
