Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif met with British High Commissioner, congratulating her on becoming the first female Chief Minister and expressing good wishes. According to Express News, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif met with British High Commissioner Jan Maryate and congratulated her on becoming Pakistan’s first female Chief Minister and expressed good wishes.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif thanked British High Commissioner Jan Maryate, and on this occasion, British High Commissioner Lahore Office Head Clarestend Hoj was also present.

During the meeting, discussions were held to increase scholarships for Punjab students in top British universities, and Maryam Nawaz informed Jan Maryate about her vision for governance and transparency.

The Punjab Chief Minister said that they want to lead Punjab into the modern age of digitalization, and will provide possible facilities to British institutions for the establishment of an IT university. They also announced that the IT Town Towers project in Lahore will start soon.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz informed the British High Commissioner about the IT Park project in Punjab, especially in Lahore, and Jan Maryate admired the Digital Punjab vision.

The meeting also discussed promoting girls’ education in Punjab, as well as exchanging ideas on technology for addressing air quality issues caused by seasonal changes and environmental pollution.
