The government has issued a circular banning employees from leaving the country during the winter vacation, as per a directive from district returning officers. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has also imposed bans on registration and deletion of votes, as well as transfers and postings of government employees. The ECP has also announced the election schedule for the February 8 general elections and vowed to provide a level-playing field to all political parties.
