A video has surfaced of former federal minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan slapping a police officer while interfering in the polling process at a polling station in Sialkot on Feb 8. Dr Awan and 10 others have been booked for the incident. The complainant, an Assistant Sub-Inspector, stated that Dr Awan arrived at the polling station with her supporters and began illegally interfering in the polling process. When the ASI asked her to stop, she allegedly slapped him and used abusive language. The Sialkot DPO has ordered appropriate action to be taken and an FIR has been registered against Dr Awan and the others involved. No arrests have been made, but the DPO has stated that strict action will be taken against the suspects. Dr Awan has a history of short temper and was previously involved in an incident where she slapped another politician during a TV talk show.
