JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman has rejected the “rigged” results of the recent general elections and called on PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif to join his party on the opposition benches instead of forming the government. According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), JUI-F only won four National Assembly seats in the elections. PML-N won 75 seats and PPP won 54, while independents, mostly backed by PTI, took the largest share of the seats.

In a press conference, Fazl claimed that the election results showed evidence of bribery and alleged that the Election Commission of Pakistan’s statement declaring the polls “free and fair” was false. He also criticized the role of the establishment in the elections, claiming that the JUI-F was targeted because of its stance on various international issues.

Fazl stated that JUI-F will play its parliamentary role with reservations and highlighted the party’s upcoming meetings and plans for a movement based on their history and sacrifices. He also addressed the possibility of a coalition with PTI, stating that their conflict is with their mindset, not their physical presence, and asserting that JUI-F is not subservient to either PPP or PML-N.
