In the ongoing investigation of the Fatima murder case, the caretaker Sindh CM Maqbool Baqar has announced the inclusion of two more members from Karachi to the special medical board. Dr. Samia, a police surgeon, and Professor Zakiuddin from Dow University will be joining the board to conduct a thorough inquiry into the case.

Caretaker CM Maqbool Baqar assured that the family of the victim, 10-year-old Fatima, will be served justice and the culprits will be punished. The government is fully committed to ensuring a fair investigation in this tragic incident.

To preserve the evidence and maintain the sanctity of Fatima’s grave, a temporary police picket has been deployed near the burial site. This step was taken after the court granted permission to exhume the grave, following concerns raised by the family that the grave might be tampered with or the remains could disappear.

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rohail Khoso stressed the importance of securing the scene and safeguarding any potential evidence related to the case.

In a related development, Khairpur’s judicial magistrate has granted a 4-day physical remand of Pir Asad Shah Jeelani, a member of the influential Pirs of Ranipur, who is the prime suspect in the case. The accused was arrested by the Khairpur Police on charges of torturing Fatima Furiro to death.

The issue came to light after video clips of Fatima’s severely tortured body went viral on social media. The girl, visibly injured, can be seen struggling to sit up on her bed in the video before collapsing.

The establishment of the special medical board, deployment of a police picket near the grave, and the arrest of the primary suspect reflect the sincere efforts being made to ensure justice for Fatima and her grieving family. The authorities are determined to bring the culprits to justice and prevent any tampering with the evidence.
