England’s fielding coach Carl Hopkinson acknowledged that the team has struggled to execute their plans under pressure at the 50-over Cricket World Cup in India. Despite being pre-tournament favorites, the 2019 champions have been eliminated after losing six of their seven group matches. The star-studded batting lineup, including Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, and Joe Root, has failed to perform consistently, with only one score of over 200 in their last four outings. Hopkinson emphasized the need for the team to improve their execution under pressure and focus on the upcoming matches against the Netherlands and Pakistan. England is now fighting for a top-eight finish to qualify for the 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan. Hopkinson stressed the importance of focusing on the next matches and winning well to secure qualification for the Champions Trophy. Currently at the bottom of the table, England is two points behind ninth-placed Netherlands.
