Elon Musk defended his use of ketamine to treat his negative frame of mind, stating that it benefits Tesla’s investors. In an interview with Don Lemon, Musk explained that he finds the anaesthetic helpful during times of depression not linked to negative news. He clarified that he only takes a small amount once every other week to avoid affecting his work, as he typically puts in 16-hour days.

Musk also addressed concerns that his drug use could impact government contracts or investor perceptions, pointing to Tesla’s success and the best-selling car on Earth as evidence of his ability to handle his responsibilities. He mentioned discussing his ketamine use in hopes of helping others and shared insights from a meeting with former President Trump, where no political donations were requested.

Regarding his potential endorsement in the upcoming presidential election, Musk stated he had not made a decision yet but was leaning away from President Joe Biden. Despite a tense exchange with Lemon on the issue of hate speech on X, Musk abruptly cancelled “The Don Lemon Show” ahead of the first episode airing, citing a lack of authenticity in Lemon’s approach. Lemon, on the other hand, expressed concerns about Musk’s commitment to free speech not extending to questions from journalists like himself.
