The Election Commission of Pakistan, in compliance with an order from the Supreme Court, has issued the election schedule for the upcoming February 8 polls. Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja confirmed that the election schedule would be announced later tonight. The schedule includes the publication of the names of nominated candidates on Dec 23, a scrutiny period from Dec 24-30, and various other important dates related to the election process. The ECP is also fully prepared for the polls and has implemented a comprehensive election management system. There was some confusion when PML-N Senator Ishaq Dar shared a supposed election schedule on social media and then deleted it. However, CEC Raja confirmed that the ECP has not released the election schedule and termed Dar’s post a lie. Overall, the ECP is fully prepared for the upcoming elections and is ensuring transparency and fairness throughout the process.
