Dubai’s leader reveals plans to build the world’s biggest airport terminal in groundbreaking aviation announcement


Al Maktoum International Airport is undergoing expansion to accommodate 260 million passengers upon completion. The new $35bn terminal, set to be five times the size of Dubai International Airport, is being constructed to handle the increased capacity. All operations will eventually move to Al Maktoum International Airport as part of Dubai’s long-term vision for growth and development. The airport will become the new home of Emirates and feature five parallel runways and 400 aircraft gates.
