A tip-off operation conducted by customs intelligence in Karachi resulted in the discovery of tax evasion amounting to Rs 27.5 million by Food Links International.
The investigation revealed that the company had been under-invoicing edible oil imported from Indonesia in order to evade taxes.
Additionally, the company was found to have been involved in cash transactions through the Hawala/Hundi network for the import of edible oil, resulting in a case being filed against those responsible.
