Continuing heavy rains in Balochistan have caused widespread misery, with 22 out of 35 districts affected. Gwadar and Kech districts in Makran are the hardest hit, with hundreds of houses collapsing and families left homeless. Damaged highways and roads have isolated Makran and other districts, cutting off trade between Pakistan and Iran. Railway tracks have been washed away, and landslides have blocked highways, causing traffic disruptions. The situation remains dire, with floodwaters still standing in Gwadar, Jeweni, and Kech district. Efforts to drain the water are hampered by a lack of heavy machinery. Local officials, including Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, have visited the affected areas, criticizing the National Highway Authority for failing to restore traffic. The province has reported three deaths and numerous injuries so far in the heavy showers.
