According to civil defense in Gaza, the bodies of women and children were recovered from buildings that were bombed. Gaza’s Ministry of Interior reported numerous casualties after an Israeli air attack on a residential building in the largest refugee camp in the strip. In addition to the fatalities, at least 27 people were injured, putting a strain on hospitals’ ability to provide adequate treatment. As a response to the Hamas incursion on Israeli soil, Israel has been bombing the Gaza Strip for over two weeks. The recent strike on the camp has contributed to the death toll in Gaza reaching 4,651, with 14,245 injured since the initial Hamas attack. The densely populated Jabalia camp, which houses three UNRWA schools, has also been targeted in previous bombings. Amnesty International recorded Israeli air attacks hitting a market in the camp on October 9, causing multiple casualties. Despite the arrival of some aid shipments over the weekend, aid groups state that it is only a fraction of what is required to help the thousands of people trapped in Gaza. Prior to October 7, hundreds of aid trucks would arrive in Gaza daily.
