A press release from the office of Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa stated that he would not be influenced or show favoritism towards anyone. This statement came in response to a letter from PTI chief Imran Khan seeking protection of his party’s rights and intervention by the Supreme Court to stop alleged abductions and disappearances of party workers and sympathetic journalists. The press release also raised concerns about the transparency and timing of the document sent to the CJP’s office, as well as the identity of the advocate who prepared it. Additionally, it mentioned the 2019 presidential reference against Justice Isa filed by the Imran-led PTI government, admitting it as a mistake after being removed from power in 2022.
