Rapper Kim Nam-joon, also known as RM, the leader of the Grammy-nominated K-pop group BTS, recently provided an update to the group’s devoted fanbase, the ARMY. During a live stream on the fan platform WeVerse, RM assured fans that the group will resume activities by 2025, after completing their mandatory military service.

Responding to a fan’s letter expressing anticipation for the group’s return, RM stated, “I definitely feel that…And what I’m thinking right now is, these days, when I’m doing my solo projects, it’s like a vacation to get back to where I was, which was BTS and ARMY.”

He further expressed that all his solo work is part of a journey leading back to the group, and their reunion in 2025. RM acknowledged the overwhelming love and support of the fans, describing it as something irresistible that motivates him to overcome trials and hardships in life.

It is important to note that BTS announced a hiatus from group activities in June of last year to fulfill their mandatory military service requirements. Jin and J-Hope have already begun their military service, while Suga initiated the enlistment process earlier this month.

In South Korea, all able-bodied men aged between 18 and 28 are required to serve in the military for approximately two years. However, a 2019 revision to the law allowed globally recognized K-pop sensation BTS to postpone their service until the age of 30.
