A group of young British trade unionists recently staged a protest outside Instro Precision Ltd, a subsidiary of Israeli military apparatus manufacturer Elbit Systems, in Glasgow, United Kingdom. Over 100 teachers, academics, healthcare providers, and others participated in the rally, carrying banners with messages such as “Workers For A Free Palestine” and “UK: Stop Arming Israel”. The demonstration was part of a series of protests against Israel’s bombardment of the Gaza Strip, which has caused numerous civilian casualties. Despite the widespread opposition to Israel’s actions, the UK government has maintained its support for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Amnesty International has accused Israel of committing war crimes with its indiscriminate attacks in Gaza. Pro-Palestinian activists in the UK have expressed disappointment that the government has not called for a ceasefire or taken a balanced view on the situation. Nevertheless, they remain committed to advocating for change and standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
