During a press conference with Provincial Information Minister Jan Achakzai, it was stated that the accusations made by PTI former chairman in his tweet are unfounded. The minister emphasized that approximately 0.5 million illegal immigrants have willingly left the country and none of them were forced to depart. He also highlighted that Pakistan is recognized for its hospitality worldwide and suggested that the tweet was merely a strategic move to gain political advantage over other parties in anticipation of the upcoming general elections.
When asked, it was asserted that the caretaker government is fully committed to ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections in the country, with no doubt about the general elections taking place nationwide on the 8th of February 2024. The minister also mentioned that it is the responsibility of the caretaker government, along with the four provincial governments, to meet the financial, administrative, and security needs of the ECP.
Furthermore, the importance of the Preamble of the Constitution, which states that the country will be governed by its elected representatives, was reiterated.
