Islamabad: Barrister Gohar Ali Khan of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was elected unopposed as the party’s Chairman and Omar Ayub as the General Secretary, while the election of three provincial presidents also took place unopposed.
According to a statement issued by the central secretariat of PTI, the announcement of panels for the intra-party elections has been made, and no candidate emerged against Gohar in the center in the competition with Omar Ayub.
The statement mentioned that Ali Amin Gandapur’s panel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Haleem Adil Sheikh in Sindh, and Rashed Yasmeen’s panel in Punjab have been selected for the intra-party elections, and as there is no competition against them, all three provincial presidents have been elected unopposed.
The panels in Balochistan include Amin Khan Jogezai’s panel, Daoud Shah’s panel, and Munir Ahmed Baloch’s panel, with the competition among them scheduled for March 3.
It was also stated in the announcement that the formal announcement of the results of the intra-party elections will be made on March 3 in Quetta after the election for the President’s post.
