In a highly unusual occurrence, a baby girl was recently born with 26 fingers in the Deeg district of Rajasthan, India. The newborn possesses seven fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot.

According to reports from Indian media, doctors have determined that the presence of extra fingers and toes is the result of a rare genetic disorder known as Polydactyly.

The family of the baby girl believe that she is a divine incarnation of the goddess they worship.

Dr. BS Soni from CHC Kaman explained, “The girl has seven fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot. This condition, called Polydactyly, is rare, but it does not cause any harm or side effects to the body.”

Dr. Soni further revealed, “The baby girl was born at the community health center in Kaman on Sunday night, and both the mother, Sarju Devi, and the baby are healthy.”

The maternal uncle of the newborn, Deepak, stated that he believed the baby girl is a blessing to the family and an incarnation of the goddess Dholagarh Devi.

“She has graced our home as a goddess. We consider ourselves fortunate that ‘Lakshmi’ has been born into our family,” he added.
