It is likely that left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi will replace Babar Azam as the skipper in the T20s, while Shah Masood is being considered for the captaincy of Pakistan’s test side on the Australia tour. The final decision will be made after the meeting between Zaka Ashraf and Babar Azam, with a separate meeting of the management committee also scheduled to be held.
Babar Azam’s leadership skills and performance have been criticized by former cricketers, experts, and fans since the Asia Cup 2023.
