A religious leader was killed in a targeted attack while returning home from Rawalpindi. Two armed men on a motorcycle opened fire on his vehicle, killing the Maulana and injuring the driver.
The Maulana was pronounced dead at the hospital, while his driver, Asad Ali Khan, survived the attack and is in stable condition.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the attackers specifically targeted the Maulana and confirmed his death before leaving the scene.
Sources also indicated that the suspects had been following the religious figure and had assigned specific roles for the attack.
