A female officer of ASF at Jinnah International Airport committed a shameful act by cutting the hair of a female passenger based on suspicion.

According to details, another shameful incident of airport security forces came to light, where female ASF officers cut the hair of a female passenger based on suspicion of intending to perform Hajj.

The affected passenger, Seema Bano, was traveling to Hajj from Jinnah International Airport. She had undergone security clearance on ASF scanner but was stopped by female ASF officer Razwana on suspicion and taken to a room where her thorough search was conducted along with other female officers.

During the checking process, the ASF officer cut the hair of the traveler Seema Bano’s head, however, no suspicious items were found when she was re-scanned. According to airport sources, the ASF officer had suspicion on the woman’s hair.

On the other hand, the Human Rights Commission (HRCP) strongly condemned the incident in harsh words, stating that cutting the hair of a female traveler by airport security officers is an assault on dignity and a serious violation of privacy.

In their statement, the Human Rights Commission said that forcibly cutting the hair of a female traveler is unacceptable and cannot be justified in any way. Such an act reflects a rebellious and patriarchal mentality that is a clear disrespect of women’s rights.

It should be noted that the incident occurred on June 1 and after its recurrence, airport sources have also confirmed it. It has been reported that departmental action is also being considered against the female officer in question.
