Peshawar: Municipal representatives have declared a protest due to not receiving powers. A session of the Provincial Action Council of Local Councils Association was held to discuss the non-transfer of municipal powers, which was attended by members of different councils including the Mayor of Mardan Movement for Justice and neighborhood councilors. Addressing the session, Mayor Hamayatullah Mayar stated that they have been demanding powers for two years but have not been given any. He said that if powers are not given by April 30, they will stage a sit-in on May 7.
