The Karachi police have made a breakthrough in the case involving the murder of a religious scholar in Gulistan-i-Jauhar. Four suspects believed to be street criminals have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the crime. The scholar, Ziaur Rehman, was shot dead during a robbery attempt in the area last month. The police have been conducting investigations and have uncovered a network of criminals operating in the city.

According to the police, the incident occurred when Ziaur Rehman was taking his routine walk in a park near the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) office. The suspects approached him and opened fire, causing fatal injuries. Despite being apprehended by the scholar, his accomplices fired indiscriminately, resulting in his death.

The investigation team led by District East DIG Azfar Mahesar has successfully tracked down the network of street criminals responsible for the murder. The team conducted raids at 70 different locations and questioned over 100 suspects in the process. They were able to match the weapons confiscated from the arrested suspects with the bullet casings found at the crime scene.

DIG Azfar Mahesar revealed that the investigation has uncovered an “active” network of criminals operating in the city. The police are determined to bring the mastermind behind this network to justice. In addition to their involvement in the murder, the arrested suspects have also confessed to several other street crimes.

This development brings hope to the community as the police continue their efforts to ensure public safety and apprehend those responsible for heinous crimes. The authorities are working tirelessly to protect the citizens and maintain law and order in Karachi.
