Mumbai: Bollywood’s famous actress Kangana Ranaut also strongly criticized Ranbir Kapoor’s blockbuster action film ‘Animal’.
The film, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is gaining popularity with each passing day, but the film is also facing severe criticism because the film shows violence against women and some scenes also show disrespect to women.
Javed Akhtar, a famous Indian poet and songwriter, had also criticized the film ‘Animal’ even before Kangana Ranaut.
A user on the social networking site X (formerly Twitter) said that “Kangana Ranaut has acted superbly in the film ‘Thalas’, but despite that, her film could not succeed and Karan Johar wants to ruin her career.”
Reacting to the user’s post, Kangana Ranaut said, “I have been trying hard so far for the success of my films, but film lovers are encouraging films that beat women and treat them like sex objects.”
Kangana Ranaut said without naming the film ‘Animal’ that “films that encourage maltreatment of women, are being encouraged, they are said to be licking shoes.”
The actress further said, “Films that empower women can change my career in the coming years, and I want to make such films in my life that are worth it.”
It should be noted that before Kangana Ranaut, Javed Akhtar had participated in an international film festival where he had strongly criticized the success of the film ‘Animal’ without mentioning the name of the film.
Javed Akhtar had said in a statement that ‘there is a film in which a man demands to lick a woman’s shoe, in the film a man says that it is absolutely right to beat a woman and if this film becomes a superhit then it is dangerous for society.’
In response to this criticism, the team of the film ‘Animal’ had issued a statement in Javed Akhtar’s name, saying, ‘If a woman who is betrayed by a man in the name of love says to him that she will lick his shoe, people like you would be very happy to call it women’s rights.’
It should be remembered that Ranbir Kapoor’s blockbuster film ‘Animal’ was released on December 1, 2023, and so far the film has earned more than 800 crore rupees worldwide.
