Islamabad: The founder Chairman of PTI has been granted permission to meet with lawyers and political advisors in private.
The Islamabad High Court has issued orders allowing the founder Chairman of PTI, Imran Khan, to meet with lawyers and political advisors in private, according to the jail manual, during the meeting, no prison staff will be present.
Justice Sardar Aijaz Ishaq Khan heard the petitions filed by the founder Chairman of PTI’s lawyers and political advisors for private meetings. During the hearing, lawyer Sher Afzal Marwat provided evidence that the jail administration does not allow lawyers to talk to the clients alone. During meetings with lawyers, two jail officials are usually present.
The lawyer mentioned that the jail administration is not allowing meetings with new party members and newly elected members. The court has requested the superintendent of Adiala Jail to issue orders for arranging private meetings with the founder Chairman of PTI’s lawyers and political advisors.
Later, the court directed the jail administration to allow lawyers to meet with the founder Chairman of PTI in private, according to the jail manual. The court ordered that no staff member will be present during the meeting with the lawyers. The court also allowed the lawyers to bring papers and a pencil during the meeting.
The lawyer stated that lawyers’ documents and other items are scanned, to which Justice Sardar Aijaz Ishaq Khan remarked that written orders will be issued on this matter. All requests regarding meetings in the jail are being handled. Do not file any further requests in the future.
Subsequently, the Islamabad High Court accepted the request to allow meetings with political advisors and directed the jail administration to process the requests accordingly.
