Karachi: Former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, Shahid Afridi, has said that Wasim Junaid and Aamer Jamal should have been in the team. In a media interview, he mentioned that Mohammad Zaman and Mohammad Ali have also performed well in domestic cricket.
The former captain stated that if we want to improve relations between Pakistan and India, it should be done through cricket. We used to receive threats but we still went to India. He also emphasized the need for the Pakistan Cricket Board to improve relations with all countries, as good relations will attract foreign teams to Pakistan.
Afridi also commented on the current political situation, saying that it is only one individual who is creating issues for his own political gain. He mentioned that everyone is aware of Modi’s handling of Muslim affairs. Afridi stressed the importance of justice for the progress of the country.
Former captain Younis Khan remarked that our reputation is because of the country, and we would like to see Babar Azam as a good captain. He suggested giving him the captaincy for two to three years.
He also emphasized the role of politicians in improving relations, as neighbors have many rights. Cricket can play an important role in enhancing relations.
