A car explosion occurred on a bridge connecting the United States and Canada over the Niagara Falls, resulting in the immediate death of two people in the car. According to global media reports, the blast took place on the American side of the bridge, known as the Checkpoint, which connects the two countries.
Following the explosion, four border crossings between the United States and Canada were closed, including the Rainbow Bridge, and additional security checks were implemented at the Niagara Falls International Airport.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s field office in Buffalo, New York, stated that they are conducting a thorough investigation in coordination with law enforcement agencies, but the cause of the explosion has not yet been determined.
