Islamabad: The inflation rate in the country has started to increase again after a continuous decrease for two weeks. According to the report issued by the Federal Bureau of Statistics, the weekly inflation rate increased by 0.37% during the last week, and the annual inflation rate has reached a recorded 43.25%.

According to the weekly report on inflation, the prices of 15 items increased, while 9 items decreased in price, and the prices of 27 essential items remained stable during the week. The report shows that during the past week, the prices of onions, chicken, mutton beef, and pulses increased, with an increase of 15.21% in onion prices, 4.76% in chicken prices, 2.90% in lentils (moong) prices, 2.89% in chickpeas prices, 1.35% in sugar prices, 0.78% in lentil (masoor) prices, and 0.54% in lentil (maash) prices.

Prices of potatoes increased by 8.66%, tomatoes by 1.01%, vegetable ghee by 0.61%, cooking oil by 0.44%, eggs by 0.40%, mustard oil by 0.24%, jaggery by 0.19%, and garlic by 0.15%.

Monthly income-based inflation rate:
The report by the Bureau of Statistics shows that for the income class earning monthly income up to Rs. 17,888, the inflation rate has reached 40.74%. For the income class with a monthly income of Rs. 22,889 to 29,517, the inflation rate has reached 46.99%. Similarly, for the income class with a monthly income of Rs. 29,518 to 44,175, the inflation rate remained at 44.26%, and for the income class with a monthly income above Rs. 44,176, the inflation rate is at 41.60%.
